During WWII fighter plane pilots and tank commanders would often have pictures drawn on the side of their war machines. These pictures became legendary and depicted animals, bombs, skeletons, and scantily clad beautiful women. After the war these inspirational designs came back with the soldiers and soon found a new home on the sides of motorcycles and hot rods.
